The aim of this paper is to investigate the WC-10Co-4Cr coatings reinforced with 5 % and 10 yttria-stabilized zirconia (Y2O3/ZrO2; YSZ) nanoparticles deposited on CA6NM turbine steel by using high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spraying technique. In HVOF technique, hot jet semi-solid particles strikes against workpiece creates a layer coating varying thickness substrate material. fabricated were analyzed scanning electron microscope (SEM) / energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). phase identification crystalline material was made diffraction (XRD) mechanical properties in terms porosity, surface roughness microhardness nanocomposite also evaluated. SEM/EDS analysis showed that dense homogeneous developed reinforcement YSZ nanoparticles. peaks XRD graphs revealed WC present as major W2C, Co3W3C, Co, Co6W6C, Co6W Y2O3/ZrO2 observed minor phase. porosity level decreased up 42 56 addition compared conventional coating. values for coating, 95 (WC-10Co-4Cr) + 90 coated samples found be 5.03, 4.89 4.28 respectively. exhibited highest value (1278 HV). resulted low high microhardness. During process, flow into pores are dispersed gaps between micrometric provide better shield results microstructural during investigation.
